The Lexus LF-C2 concept will have its premiere at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show, which starts in a couple of days. Not many details are known about the new model, but there are some rumors about it. Also, the manufacturer released a teaser image of the new model. On the photo you can see the outline of the new model. Though the teaser doesn’t reveal much, there are numerous speculations saying that the new model will be a convertible counterpart to the Lexus RC Coupe. It will probably share numerous details with it, but we do expect the new model to also bring some novelties and innovation, at least when it comes to its design. As for the powertrain and performance, the new Lexus LF-C2 will probably have similar setups as the aforementioned coupe, which would be a true delight. The RC Coupe is a very impressive and famous model, so if the new drop-top model gets at least as good as the coupe, it will surely be one of the most impressive models on the market. Of course, it goes without saying that the production version of the convertible won’t be the same as the concept, but after the November 19th, when the concept’s debut is scheduled, we will have a pretty good picture of a treat we are in for.
Lexus LF-C2 Powertrain
The new Lexus LF-C2 will probably come with the same powertrain as the RC coupe, though this information hasn’t been confirmed yet. The entry level of the aforementioned coupe is a V6 engine, while the most impressive unit comes with the Lexus RC F model. The latter is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 unit which can generate over 450 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. If the new drop-top comes with such a unit, it will surely become one of the most impressive and fun to drive convertibles on the market. However, the RC F model is a performance-oriented coupe, so it is questionable whether or not its powertrain will be used for the new LF-C2. On the other hand, even if the new convertible comes with the aforementioned V6 unit, it will surely be a great addition to Lexus’ current model lineup.
Los Angeles Debut
The Lexus LF-C2 concept will have its debut on the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show. Even though there are no official confirmations on the production version of the drop-top, the mere fact that they decided to present such a concept says enough. Since all the details about the new model are keep as a top-secret, we should know more about the new convertible once it is presented to the public.
