The 2019 Nissan GT-R will have its premiere during 2017, while the model will be released during 2018. The new model was anticipated sooner, but for some reason the manufacturer decided not to rush its release. Of course, until the 2019 model arrives as a full redesign, the Nissan will have another carry over model to fill the gap. Although the information about the 2019 GT-R is scarce, there are some rumors which can help us understand what it will look like. Reportedly, the new model will be drastically changed. Even though it will keep some resemblance to the current generation, the appearance of the 2019 model will be radically improved. It will look more modern, aggressive and bold. Also, there should be some interior changes which will regard the design of the cabin and its equipment. However, the most important change will surely be the one made on the powertrain. Reportedly, the 2019 Nissan GT-R will have much better performance, which is the most important feature of every sports car.
2019 Nissan GT-R Appearance Will Be Robust
The appearance of the new 2019 Nissan GT-R is still unknown. The new design still hasn’t started, but there are some rumors about its possible outcome. According to the Mr. Shiro Nakamura, Nissan’s chief creative officer, the new model will keep the resemblance to the current model. Mr Nakamura also stated for the Autocar that the new design will be fresh, aggressive and bold. It seems as though the manufacturer has no intention of following the current automotive trend which leans towards elegant and fluent body lines. Instead, the design of the new 2019 Nissan GT-R will be bold, robust and rough. It will preserve its current charm and look quite unique. As for the interior, it should also be significantly improved. There are no reports on this topic at the moment, but the new cabin should also get a redesign, and it should be better equipped. However, at the moment, it is hard to say what the new interior will look like.
Chassis And Powertrain Development
The 2019 Nissan GT-R is in development as we speak. Currently, the manufacturer is working on its new chassis. The new model will come with standard rear-wheel drive, while the all-wheel drive will be offered as optional. The new sports car will offer both conventional gasoline engines as well as a hybrid setup. At this moment, it is still unknown which units and setups will be used for the next generation of the GT-R, but they will certainly provide better performance than the current one. The powertrain will especially be improved in the field of stability, handling and agility.
