Recently there have been some new about a possible new Nissan model. Though this information is not confirmed, there are some rumors which say that the new 2018 Nissan Silvia will be released by the end of 2017. The Silvia would represent a sports coupe and it would come with some interesting specs. If the model does get released, it will compete against a rather tough competition, such as Toyota GT86 and Subaru BRX, which means that the manufacturer would have to do their best in order to make any profit. It is interesting how the performance and other aspects of the new model are widely speculated, when its release is yet to be confirmed. This fact leads to two conclusions: either the automotive public is really hoping for this to happen, of the Nissan is actually going to release the Silvia. One way or another, the 2018 Nissan Silvia would, judging by this, do just fine on the market, and the manufacturer would be insane to miss such an opportunity.
Possible Exterior Design & Platform
The 2018 Nissan Silvia, if it does get released, will have an attractive and modern appearance. The new sport coupe would be heavily based on the Sport Sedan Concept, whose general ideas it would inherit, and the Nissan IDx Concept, which is an intriguing and modern design solution with a touch of aggressiveness and eccentricity. Therefore, the 2018 Silvia would be a beautiful and attractive coupe. Its exterior would be dynamic and fluent, but it would also feature some more modern and futuristic details seen on the IDx Concept. in addition, the 2018 Nissan Silvia would probably be underpinned by the same rear-wheel drive platform as the aforementioned IDx.
2018 Nissan Silvia Powertrain Speculations
The 2018 Nissan Silvia powertrain is widely speculated. Since there is no official information about its release, let alone engine options, we must rely on the rumors. According to them, the new sport coupe would be lighter and smaller than the new performance coupe which is going to replace the current 370Z and therefore, it will use smaller engines. This way, the model would have decent performance with optimal fuel consumption. The 2018 Silvia is rumored to come with a supercharged 1.2-liter and a turbocharged 1.6-liter mills. As we mentioned before, the new coupe will use a rear-wheel drive, while the transmission is still unknown. According to some sources, the coupe will use either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, while the CVT is most likely not to be chosen.
2018 Nissan Silvia – Will It Be Released?
The manufacturer still hasn’t confirmed that the new model is going to be released, but if it does, it will most likely be available by the end of 2017. According to some sources, we should know more about this model after the presentation of the revised Nissan IDx Concept next year at the 2015 Tokyo Auto Show. At this point, though, no one can say with certainty whether or not there will be a 2018 Nissan Silvia.
