2017 Subaru Impreza Sedan & Hatch to Arrive This Year

The 2017 Subaru Impreza just had its premiere at the 2016 New York Auto Show. The new model amazed most of its loyal fans, as its new updates are more than anyone hoped for. It seems that the Subaru family has big plans for its new model, thus such a thorough redesign. The new 2017 Subaru Impreza looks much more luxurious and modern than its predecessor: the materials used for it are also of higher quality, and the new interior is packed full with gadgets and safety systems. In addition, the new 2017 Impreza comes with some performance updates – though not as drastic as other improvements, they can only help tilt the scale to Impreza’s favor when it comes to those buyers who look for a little bit more out of their car.

As before, the 2017 Subaru Impreza will be offered as both the sedan and five-door hatchback with a choice of four trim levels: 2.0i, 2.0i Premium, 2.0i Sport and 2.0i Limited.

The new 2017 Subaru Impreza comes with an improved and refreshed exterior design. The new model now looks more modern and elegant. Though the production version doesn’t look exactly like the previously showed concept counterpart, the new 2017 Impreza got the best details of it. Its new exterior is more refined, with edgier design lines and more fluid body shape. The new model really stands out, as it now offers a more assertive and aggressive stance.

The interior of the new 2017 Subaru Impreza has also been improved. To start with, the new cabin now features materials of higher quality. Also, the center console received a smaller design changes in order to look sleeker. The interior, however, now comes with more electronics than before.

What’s New Inside the 2017 Impreza

The 2017 Subaru Impreza offers a new infotainment system with an 8-inch display and TomTom maps for navigation. Optionally, there is also a Harman Kardon audio system. More advanced trims will also feature power driver’s seat, push-button start and leather upholstery, while the Sport trim now comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, active torque vectoring and suspension tune-up.

As for the safety, the new 2017 Impreza will continue to offer the EyeSight safety system, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keep assistance and automatic pre-collision system. Optionally, buyers can further upgrade their models with new automatic high beams, rear automatic braking system and steering responsive headlamps.

2017 Subaru Impreza Powertrain & Performance

The 2017 Subaru Impreza will be the first Subaru to ride on a new Subaru Global Platform. The new platform brought a small increase in the model’s dimensions, but it is said to improve the handling and precision. As for the powertrain, the new 2017 Impreza should use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, like before, with a small increase of 4 horsepower compared to the current model. That means that the new model will offer a total of 152 horsepower. All trims will offer Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive mode as standard.

Premiere & Release Date

The 2017 Subaru Impreza should be available later this year. Its premiere took place at the 2016 NY Auto Show, so all those interested in having a closer look at the new model can still do so until the closing time on April 3rd.
