The 2017 Hyundai Elantra will have its premiere at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show. Even though there is still some time left before the premiere, there are already some rumors and details which are known about the new sedan. This is mostly due to the Korean model’s premiere, which allowed us to take a glimpse at the new car. Of course, since the Korean and the U.S.-market are two quite different things, the models reserved for each of them will also differ. However, some basic solutions and ideas will carry through. The 2017 Hyundai Elantra will come with attractive and modern design, excellent powertrain options and loads of gadgets. However, in our view, the biggest plus on the redesigned compact sedan will be its interior, since the new 2017 Elantra now comes with much more comfortable and driver-oriented cabin.

The 2017 Hyundai Elantra will come with a powerful and dominant design. This will be a true modern and assertive sedan which the buyers are craving more and more for. The elegant lines and refined style will make the sedan attract attention anywhere it goes, but it will also keep its recognizable details. In addition, the new model will be a bit bigger than its current counterpart, and though the change is rather small (+0.79” in length and +.87” in width), the improvement will be noticeable inside the car.

2017 Hyundai Elantra Interior

The 2017 Elantra will come with a much more comfortable cabin than before. The new sedan features just a small size increase, but the interior is better organized and used thus offering a bit more space. In addition, the new sedan comes with more quality materials and a more refined design. The manufacturer paid attention to even the smallest details in order to provide the passengers and the driver with the most pleasant journey possible. The new 2017 Hyundai Elantra will also be packed full with gadgets and systems, especially those which concern safety.

Moreover, the 2017 Elantra comes with a more silent cabin. The new design reduced the noise quite a bit, thus improving the quality of the driving experience. For example, acceleration noise is now only 75dB high, while road noise (FRT/RR) is reduced to 64dB.

And if you find the new cabin too quiet, you can always turn to the newest audio system. The 2017 Hyundai Elantra offers a new premium Harman audio system which comes with eight powerful and impressive speakers which deliver fantastic pure and clear sound.

Suspension & Other Changes

The 2017 Hyundai Elantra will now be made out of high-strength steel, which will result in weight loss. The new model should be lighter than its counterpart, which will provide more agile and precise drive. In addition, the 2017 Elantra sedan comes with an improved suspension which is said to have been completely redone. This should give the new model a smoother and gentler behaviour.

2017 Hyundai Elantra Engine Options

The 2017 Hyundai Elantra will probably offer two 1.6-liter four-cylinder engines to the U.S.-market, one naturally aspired and one with a turbocharger. This information is based on assumptions, so the exact powertrain will be known after the premiere. In addition, the diesel variant is offered for some other markets, but this unit will most likely stay out of American buyers’ reach. As for the transmission, the most possible solution is the seven-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission), which comes with diesel engine only on the Korean market. However, it is expected to be the first option in the USA, while the other gearboxes, the six-speed automatic and six-speed manual, will probably be optional.
