The 2017 Honda Ridgeline will have its debut sometime next year. The new mid-size pickup truck is widely speculated, even though details about it are still scarce. With so much time left until the official premiere, it is no wonder we can’t find out too much about it at the moment. At this point, there are some semi-reliable information about the new 2017 Ridgeline, as well as a teaser image released this February at 2015 Chicago Auto Show. The photo shows the new Ridgeline which will, hopefully, have a better future than its predecessor. A decade ago, when the first Ridgeline showed up, the audience was impressed with its capabilities and lack of sense of design. Now, ahead of the new model’s premiere, we must say we hope the model remain as versatile and quality as once before. As for the design, as you can see, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline kept its unique appearance, but add a bit more style and flair to it. All in all, we are rather anxious to see this pickup on the road and to witness its either amazing rise or humiliating fall.
2017 Honda Ridgeline Exterior Design
The 2017 Honda Ridgeline will come with a new and interesting appearance. Though the new pickup will most definitely resemble its predecessor, we must say it will have a much more modern and aggressive stance. The new Ridgeline will hopefully have a better future than its previous counterpart, and the new appearance will surely help with that. However, this model will not only be a more modern iteration of the old truck. According to some rumors, the new 2017 Honda Ridgeline will be heavily influenced by the Honda Pilot, and since the latter is a huge success in its market niche, we are optimistic about the new 2017 Honda Ridgeline’s future. In addition, the new model is said to come with the same new platform that is also used for the Honda Pilot and Acura MDX. It should also come with reduced weight, compared to the current model, thanks to the new front and rear suspension design. According to some rumors, the 2017 model will be 300 pound lighter. Also, the new pickup truck will offer at least two cab configurations, which was a big flaw for the last model. There are some rumors that the new 2017 Honda Ridgeline will be a bit bigger than the current one, but this hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Powertrain Setup & Performance
The 2017 Honda Ridgeline is rumored to adopt the 2016 Honda Pilot’s powertrain setup. This means it will be powered by a direct-injected 3.5-liter V6 which should produce up to 300 horsepower. The pickup will come with a six-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive. According to some sources, the new 2017 Ridgeline will come with an improved fuel economy thanks to the cylinder deactivation system. More details about it should be known later.
Release Date & Estimated Price
The 2017 Honda Ridgeline should be released on fall 2016. The estimated price for the entry level model is somewhere around $30,000.
