The 2017 Honda Odyssey will be released by the end of 2016. The new model will be severely redesigned, making this a brand new generation of the popular minivan. The new Odyssey will come with a vast number of novelties and it will surely interest even those who never showed much of appreciation for such vehicles. The 2017 Odyssey is still far from its release date, so not all the details about it are known, but there are some leaks on its specs. To start with, the new model will, naturally, have a new appearance. The exterior redesign will be noticeable, but it will also preserve the current charm and style. The model will also drive on the new underpinning, which will change the feel of travel in it. On the other hand, since there are two more years until the minivan’s released, the details about its interior are far scarcer. As for the powertrain, the new 2017 Odyssey will discard its current engine and take on a new mill, also used for the mighty Accord. This way the company is fixing more or less all the less admired spots on the new model, making it a fairly interesting vehicle to look forward to.
Improved Appearance & New Platform
The 2017 Honda Odyssey will, like we mentioned, improve its appearance. The new model will keep the current style, but it will also present it in a new light. The dimensions and basic structure will remain in tacked, but the details and parts will make the minivan look modern and attractive. The redesign will mostly focus on the common areas, such as headlights, taillights, bumpers etc. in addition, the new Odyssey will have a new platform which was developed for the famous Acura MDX. The platform will provide better support, as well as lighter body, but the minivan will not inherit the MDX’s suspension due to the fact such move would make the vehicle too expensive. The substitute for the latter will do just as well, but it will keep the price in reasonable range, which is equally important. As for the interior, there isn’t much information about it yet, but we are sure that the manufacturer will pay the same attention to is as it did to the exterior. Also, the new model should have improved comfort and its systems are expected to be up-to-date with the latest-technologies.
2017 Honda Odyssey Powertrain — Earth Dream V6 Engine
As for the powertrain, the 2017 Honda Odyssey will use a new engine. It is a 3.5-liter Earth Dreams V6 SOHC unit that is capable of generating 278 horsepower and 252 lb-ft of torque. The same engine is also used for the Honda Accord and its performance proved close to perfect, so this is great news. In addition, the new model is expected to have decent EPA fuel economy ratings as well, whose figures should be at 21 mpg/city and 34 mpg/highway when the engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Since there is a lot of time left until the release, the new minivan might even get an improved version of the transmission, and it performance could be even more improved.
2017 Honda Odyssey Release
The 2017 Honda Odyssey will be released by the end of 2016, possibly in the fall. As for the price, there is still no official information about this topic yet.
