Engine Lineup

The 2017 Acura MDX will most likely keep its current engine lineup. That means that the new model will offer only one engine. It will be a 3.5-liter Earth Dreams V6 engine which generates 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. The engine will be paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox. As for the drive modes, the new model will use the front-wheel drive as standard, while the SH-AWD (Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive) will be offered as optional. The latter returns better fuel economy than the FWD; setting the figures at 18 mpg/city, 27 mpg/highway and 21 mpg/combined. The FWD returns 20 mpg/city, 28 mpg/highway and 21 mpg/combined. Although the new model will keep the old powertrain, it is possible that the latter will be improved. This means that the aforementioned engine might produce more power under the hood of the 2017 MDX, or possibly, its fuel consumption might be reduced.
