Needless to say, the Tacoma was very popular as it is, but now it will come as an essentially improved and much better model. To start with, the new truck comes with a much more modern and attractive exterior. The appearance of the 2016 Toyota Tacoma has been improved and modernized, so it was only logical they do the same to the interior as well. However, the new model will not be all about appearances. It will also come with a new V6 engine and an improved performance. The pickup truck will offer a couple of possible powertrain setups, so it should be capable of offering something to suit everyone’s taste. All in all, the 2016 Toyota Tacoma will be a superb new model to choose once it is finally released.
2016 Toyota Tacoma Trims
As did its predecessors, the 2016 Toyota Tacoma will too offer five different trim levels – SR, SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road and Limited.
The 2016 Toyota Tacoma will come with a refreshed and new appearance. Of course, its new looks will be based on the current Tacoma design, but they will be much more attractive and modern. The designers, however, decided not to change too much its recognizable exterior style, so they only refreshed it. The outcome is quite impressive and will surely increase the model’s sales.
With its new exterior design, the 2016 Toyota Tacoma also offers a new interior design. The cabin now looks more modern, too, with the biggest change being a new dashboard.
2016 Toyota Tacoma Bodywork
The new truck will also feature some underpinning changes. Reportedly, the body of the new 2016 Toyota Tacoma will be made by using the ultra-high-strength steel, which will make the model tougher and more capable than before. In addition, the suspension has been improved so that the truck could offer a more comfortable drive and better performance on the road.
Like we said before, the 2016 Toyota Tacoma will come with a new engine. It will be powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine. This Atkinson cycle V6 D-4S mill will be mated to either a new six-speed manual or a new six-speed automatic transmission. Aside from this unit, the 2016 Tacoma will also offer a 2.7-liter four-cylinder unit, which can too be paired with either one of the aforementioned gearboxes. However, this unit can also come with a five-speed manual transmission.
Though there are no official announcements regarding the power output or the fuel economy of the new 2016 Toyota Tacoma, the manufacturer said that both of the engines offered will provide more power and better fuel efficiency than before.
Off-Road Versions’ Details
The 2016 Toyota Tacoma off-road versions will come with a Multi-Terrain Select system than helps the truck adapt to different terrain conditions. It will also come with a more suited suspension. In addition, the model will offer limited-slip and locking rear differential, hill start assist, Crawl Control system, advanced traction control and much more.
Aside from the fully-equipped cabin, great powertrain setups, new exterior and interior design and improved bodywork, the 2016 Toyota Tacoma will bring another interesting feature. Though this is not as important as the aforementioned, the new truck will come with a GoPro Mount camera which you can place near the rearview mirror. Cool and neat gadget, don’t you think? It seems that the manufacturer really thought of everything.
