The 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser should be released next year. Ahead of its arrival, we have little information about the new model which should help us get a better picture of the new off-roader. And though the information is scarce, it basically covers all we need to know about the upcoming model. The 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser will be only updated model, not a new generation, so the brand-new SUV is still a few years away. However, the new 2016 model year refreshment will come as a nice surprise while we wait for the next-gen SUV. The exact appearance of the upcoming 2016 Land Cruiser is only speculated, as well as its specs, but the new off-road SUV should come with new and modern appearance, more luxurious and posh cabin and more gadgets. As for the powertrain, the 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser is most likely to keep the current powertrain intact, or possibly tune it up a bit to deliver more power. Still, the engine option will probably remain the same.
New Exterior & Interior Updates
The 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser should come with improved exterior design. Though the exact look is still unknown, there are some leaks about it. Reportedly, the 2016 Land Cruiser will come with a new grille, revised bumpers and headlights. The new grille will feature more chrome details, as will the entire vehicle, while the headlights will keep their LED treatment. At the back of the model, there will be a new and improved pair of LED taillights and a bit different design. The entire model should look much more aggressive and dominant than the current one. In addition, the 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser will also come with improved hood design, which will give the SUV a more robust and musculin feel. As for the interior, the rumors say that the new model will come with revised center console and improved instrument cluster. Also, the 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser should come with a more posh and elegant interior appearance, which will implement more quality materials and even more gadgets. The new SUV is also rumored to bring an all-new infotainment system.
2016 Toyota Land Cruiser Powertrain Remains Unchanged
The U.S.-spec 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser will probably keep its current powertrain setup unchanged. That means it will be powered by a 5.7-liter V8 mill that currently generates 381 horsepower and 401 lb-ft of torque. The engine power output might be a bit tuned up, according to some sources, now bringing 390 horsepower and 403 lb-ft of torque, but this hasn’t been confirmed yet, so we are not quite convinced it will happen. In addition, the unit will be paired with six-speed automatic gearbox and will use the four-wheel drive only. The FWD also comes with locking center differential, Crawl control and Toyota Multi-Terrain Select System.
The 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser will be available in Europe by the end of this year. However, the American public will have to be a bit more patient. Their model should debut next year, possibly at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show, and should be released by the end of 2016.
