The 2016 Kia Optima was unveiled at the 2015 New York Auto Show. The new model has been seriously redone and should impress even those who weren’t its fans so far. The sedan has been altered in some many ways it is hard to say which of the improvements is the best or the most important one. However, all of the changes combined will certainly offer and immensely better experience than the current model. The 2016 Optima will come with a slightly changed exterior design, some improvements on the dimensions and underpinning, a remarkably better interior and more gadgets. Furthermore, it will feature three engine options, which include one brand-new unit, so it can provide something to everyone’s taste. All in all, if you are looking for a versatile and luxurious sedan that doesn’t come at a too high price, the 2016 Kia Optima might be just what you need.
The 2016 Kia Optima comes with new dimensions. Though we cannot say the size increase is radical, it will make a difference. The new sedan is longer, wider and taller, and though these changes are very obvious, they will provide more space inside the model. In addition, aside from the size boost, the new 2016 Kia Option will also feature some changes on its chassis. The new model will have a more modern underpinning, made out of materials as advanced as high-strength steel, which will make it lighter and more endurable. These changes together provide better handling and stability, as well as improved precision and steering.
New More Modern & Elegant Exterior Design
The 2016 Kia Optima comes with a refreshed and more modern appearance. The new model looks way more elegant and posh than the previous one. Of course, the 2016 Optima and the current counterpart do resemble each other, but it seems that the manufacturer has decided to turn their best-selling model into a more luxurious version of itself. This being said, the new 2016 Kia Optima looks really attractive. While the size increase didn’t do much to its appearance, the new details and design solutions surely did. Up front, the sedan still features the tiger-nose grille, followed with a pair of handsome headlights. In addition, the new model has a more fluent and impressive roofline, which makes it look refined and subtle. While the details on the car are a bit bold and aggressive, they perfectly blend with the aerodynamic and sleek lines and shapes. The entire look can be completed with a choice between 16– and 18-inch wheels, whereas the 18” ones come with three different design solutions offered.
2016 Kia Optima Interior Changes
The new midsize sedan will now come with a more comfortable cabin. As we said before, the 2016 Kia Optima isn’t drastically bigger than its current counterpart, but it should provide more legroom and headroom. In addition, the manufacturer decided to invest into the elegant and luxury of the model, so they offered more quality materials. Depending on the trim level, the new 2016 Optima comes with either cloth, leather or famous Nappa leather for the upholstery, while the seats have been re-configured to provide more comfort. In addition, the entire design of the cabin is really driver-oriented and is way more elegant than the current one. The new front seats are heated and ventilated, and the interior comes in two color schemes: Rich Merlot and Dark Aubergine.
