The 2016 Honda Accord will be released this August. The price list for the new coupe and sedan models is still unknown, but should be announced soon. The new 2016 Accord comes with various innovations and changes which should attract more buyers. The new model mainly focuses on the younger audience, so its redesign for the 2016 year will bring a more modern and attractive car. The 2016 Honda Accord now features a refreshed exterior design which, truth be told, doesn’t diverge too much from the current one. However, the new model’s innovations in appearance are obvious and they add a more stylish and aggressive feel to it. The powertrain should remain the same as for the previous version, while the interior will suffer most changes. Since the target audience for the new 2016 Honda Accord are younger buyers, the manufacturer decided to pack the new car full with gadgets, systems and applications. Therefore, the new sedan and coupe models come with impressive list of equipment offered and we are sure their new features will help them achieve higher sales.
Like we said already, the new 2016 Honda Accord comes with a slightly updated exterior design. The new model now looks more modern and attractive. The front end features a revised grille, new LED fog lights and a lot of aluminum details. The rear end was also changed and now comes with new bumpers and new LED taillights. The 2016 Accord looks very sporty and modern; its new and assertive details add a bit of a futuristic feel while at the same time keeping the model stylish and bold. In addition, the 2016 Honda Accord will now sit atop of new 19-inch wheels and the coupe models will get the Touring trim.
2016 Honda Accord Powertrain Setup
The 2016 Honda Accord will use the same engines as it did before. The base unit is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder mill which generates 185 horsepower. The more advanced engine is a 3.5-liter V6 which can produce 278 horsepower. The mills can be paired with six-speed manual, six-speed automatic or a CVT.
Technology Update & New Systems
The 2016 Honda Accord will offer Honda Sensing suite. The Honda Sensing package includes various safety and driver-assist systems which can come in handy in all kinds of situations. The setup features Collision Mitigation Braking System with Forward Collision Warning, Road Departure Mitigation, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning and Adaptive Cruise Control. The Honda Sensing comes as a standard equipment for the Touring trim.
Speaking of standard equipment, the 2016 Honda Accord features Multi-Angle Rearview Camera and Expanded View Driver’s Mirror as standard on all trims, while the Touring trim also features auto high-beam headlights.
Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
The 2016 Honda Accord now features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto applications on EX and higher trims. These two systems use Display Audio 7-inch touchscreen which responds to usual smartphone commands (swipe, tap and pinch). The Display Audio will also come with HD Radio and HondaLink Assist (e911) available.
Aside from this seven-inch screen, the new 2016 Honda Accord will also come with another display. The 7.7-inch high-res screen displays time, trip information, audio setting and turn-by-turn directions. It can also be used for LaneWatch and Rearview Camera feeds, parking sensors alerts and incoming calls and SMS text messages when the car isn’t moving.
The 2016 Honda Accord comes with standard parking sensors and rain-sensing wipers for the Touring sedans, as well as heated rear seats. The EX trim, and higher, will also feature standard remote start and satellite radio.
