Aside from the huge number of posts we have already dedicated to the premieres which will take place at the 2015 NAIAS, there is one more which hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it has already raised a lot of rumors and speculations. According to some sorts, the 2016 Ford GT might be back. Although this rumor is still unconfirmed, there are some sources which claim that the new model’s debut will take place at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. The new racing model will be designed in its glorious way we all remember it by, and it will have both a racing and production versions. If the manufacturer decides to produce the 2016 model, it will surely be one of the most prominent cars displayed at the auto show in January. For now, we can only rely on rumors, and our own wishes, until we come upon some more reliable data.

The 2016 Ford GT is rumored to have its premiere at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Though this hasn’t been confirmed, if the new coupe does see the light of day, it will be sold as a limited edition in 1,200 units. The new 2016 GT will be designed in order to celebrate 50 years since Ford GT’s first victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. 2016 Ford GT Speculated Powertrain Setups
The 2016 Ford GT powertrain setup is still unknown. However, there are two possible solutions which are largely speculated. The first one says that the new 2016 GT will be powered by a 5.2-liter V8 unit, but this opinion doesn’t have many supporters. The more likely scenario is the one saying that the new 2016 Ford GT will be powered by a V6 EcoBoost unit. This engine will produce more than 600 horsepower – after all, the GT is known for its superb performance and above all, amazingly powerful engine, therefore the new mill better not disappoint. In addition, this will be a perfect opportunity for the manufacturer to show its beloved EcoBoost engines in another light. So far, they were only famous by their impressive fuel economy, but no one really thought of them as powerful and fierce engines. Now, the Ford has the chance to prove us all wrong.
