The 2016 Buick Cascada will have its debut on the American soil by the next year, or in the beginning of 2016 the latest. The new Buick will represent an affordable, yet elegant and luxurious convertible, which will surely differ from most models offered there. The new Buick Cascada will bring style, comfort and a decent powertrain for all those who enjoy simple and sophisticated things in life. As for its design, the new model will be more or less the same as its European counterpart, the Opel Cascada. Aside from some minor exterior changes which will be made in order to make the new Buick look like one, the two Cascadas will also be different in terms of powertrain. Whereas the Opel version offers three engine choices, the Buick convertible will come with only one unit. The latter will be modest in its capabilities, but bear in mind that this is not a performance-oriented model; it is more of a cruiser or a sign of taste and refinement. Any additional information is expected to be released shortly.
2016 Buick Cascada Exterior
The 2016 Buick Cascada will borrow its looks from the Opel’s version of it. The Casada will be very stylish and all the design changes it will receive upon entering the USA will consider making it a recognizable Buick model. Therefore, the new Buick convertible will have its famous waterfall grille, and the model will also feature some styling changes which will make it look more like the other models from this family. The convertible will use the Delta II platform which also underpins the Buick Verano, though it will be altered to fit the Cascada’s smaller body. This also means that the new model will come with the front-wheel drive, since the Delta II is design to offer such mode. As for the interior, the manufacturer is trying to keep it a secret, though we have no doubts that it will look just as refined as the exterior. The new cabin will be different in comparison to the Opel’s, featuring the high-quality materials, stylish details and more than enough gadgets.
Powertrain: U.S.-spec Engine & Performance
The 2016 Buick Cascada will bring to the USA only one engine of the three offered with its counterpart in Europe. It is the 1.6-liter inline-four turbocharged unit that generates 168 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque. With this setup it will accelerate to 60 mph from a standstill in 9.52 seconds. The six-speed automatic gearbox will be offered, which will surely trim this number down. As for the Euro-spec Cascada, it will enrich its engine palette with two more options: a 2.0-liter diesel and a weaker version of the aforementioned 1.6-liter inline-four.
