The 2016 BMW M8 will be the first supercar Bimmer since 1981. That year the last of the famous M1 was sold. The name of the new supercar is a combination of its predecessor’s and the i8 model, an electric car whose platform the new M8 will use. In addition, the new M8 will borrow some elements from the 5-series as well, such as its engine, which will be tuned and upgraded to produce up to 650 horsepower in the new model. Also, the new model will use a lot of light-weighted material, such as aluminum, magnesium, titanium and carbon-fibers in order to stay lighter than 3,300 pounds. This weight reduce and excellent fuel efficiency will make this car a far more interesting choice in its competition group than others, as that is the focus of the new BMW strategy and it will also provide outstanding performance. The new 2016 BMW M8 should have its premiere at the 100th anniversary of this famous car manufacturer, while its release date is expected to happen two years after.

The new 2016 BMW M8 is expected to fill the shoes of its predecessor, the famous M1 Hommage. The new supercar will have a few retro cues to order to pay its respect to this legend in supercar history. Like we mentioned before, the new 2016 BMW M8 will use the M5’s engine that will be upgraded for this purpose. The new M8 will run on a 4.4-liter V-8 TwinPower Turbo engine that will deliver between 600 and 650 horsepower. As for the transmission, the new supercar will use an eight-speed automatic transmission. In addition, the new model will reach 62mph from a standstill in around three seconds, while its top speed is limited at a roughly 200mph.

The 2016 BMW M8 will have its premiere at the BMW’s 100th anniversary and it will be released sometime in the next two years after that. As for the price, the new M8 will cost around 250,000 euros, which is around $330,000 at the current exchange rate.
