The Acura NSX is a powerful and impressive coupe whose popularity keeps growing by the day. The model is modern, aggressive and fierce on the road, so there isn’t a lot of buyers who see it as a bad choice. This much love and fascination for the model made the manufacturer consider the option of extending the list of offers. Therefore, the company decided not to offer one more NSX choice, but two. The first one will be the 2016 Acura NSX Roadster. This convertible will look quite similar to the current coupe version, though it will come with some small designed details which will make the difference between the two NSXs. Needless to say that the convertible version will have an impressive powertrain, which will provide more than enough power and agility to leave most of the competitors back in the dust. The second NSX choice will be the new 2016 Honda NSX. This model will be, aesthetically, more or less the same as the Acura’s counterpart, but it will come with a little bit worse powertrain. However, this downside will affect the model’s pricing, so the new Honda NSX will be more affordable.
2016 Acura NSX Roadster Appearance
The 2016 Acura NSX Roadster will have the same appearance as the Acura NSX coupe. The new model will only have some smaller details which will set it apart from its older coupe sibling, but essentially, it will follow the same design style that was used for the coupe. Of course, it goes without saying that the Acura and Honda Roadsters will have a bit different body line due to the fact they are convertibles, but the appearance will still have the same dominant, modern and aggressive appeal. The new Acura NSX Roadster will, however, come with some new details in order to set itself out from the other two.
Powertrain Of NSX Roadster
The 2016 Acura NSX Roadster will use the same architecture as its coupe counterpart. It will also borrow some other characteristics from the latter. The new Roadster will use the same hybrid setup that consists of a V6 gasoline mill and three electric motors. We have already described this powertrain in the article about the coupe, but we shall point out the power output of the setup. The 2016 NSX Coupe Hybrid comes with a total of around 500 horsepower. The NSX Roadster should, however, have a bit better performance as it is expected that the new model will weigh less than the coupe variant. Moreover, the 2016 Acura NSX Roadster will use the famous SH-AWD system, and the model should also come with a dual-clutch automatic transmission.
2016 Honda NSX Features
The 2016 Honda NSX will inherit the same design that was used for the Acura NSX coupe. The only changes will be made due to the different body configurations, but aesthetically, these two models will look the same. Since the Honda NSX will come with less impressive performance, the manufacturer decided to keep the aggressive and bold appeal that comes from the outside. Though the model will be less powerful, its performance will be in sync with its exterior. The new Honda NSX Roadster will use a 3.5-liter V6 engine that is also used for the Acura RDX. This mill should generate between 370 and 400 horsepower, which is not bad for a model of this class. The power will provide decent performance, quite satisfying for such model, but the supercar-like features that come with its Acura counterpart will be left out. Nevertheless, compared to its competition, the 2016 Honda NSX will be quite impressive due to its performance, wicked design and excellent price.
Pricing Of 2016 Acura NSX Roadster And 2016 Honda NSX
The 2016 Acura NSX Roadster price is currently unknown. However, some sources claim that the new model will have a similar price tag as its coupe counterpart. As for the 2016 Honda NSX, this model should cost drastically less than the Acura NSX, which will surely have a positive effect on its popularity and sales.
