The 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek will be released this December. The new model will not be radically changed, but it will feature some rather interesting updates. The current model is a very satisfying vehicle as it is, so the new changes will only improve the model and make it even more desirable. Also, since the changes will not be drastic, they shouldn’t influence the price raise too much, which means that the new 2015 XV Crosstrek will be a powerful, modern and reliable crossover for a reasonable price. If you add to that some of the cool features the model always comes with, such as boxer engine and standard all-wheel drive, you get an impressive vehicle. The new 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek will come with the current powertrain intact, offering both gasoline and hybrid setups. As for the aforementioned improvements, the new model will feature new and improved technology gadgets, such as infotainment system, but it will also come with a wider array of safety systems, which is a change, although small, that cannot be ignored.
2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek Powertrain
The 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek will keep its current powertrain. There will be no changes here, unfortunately, but since the current options offer decent performance, the damage is not that bad. The base engine will be a 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer unit which generates 148 horsepower, while the hybrid setup will consist of the same mill and an electric motor. Both powertrain options will use a five-speed manual or a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) automatic transmission and they will come with an all-wheel drive as standard.
The 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek will feature a new 6.2-inch infotainment system. This screen will be used to display reports from numerous other systems, such as the standard rear-view camera. The latter will be offered with all trims, but on the 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid Touring, 2.0i Limited and 2.0i Premium trims it will come with a larger 7-inch screen. This new infotainment system is relatively new, but it has been tested on the Outback and Legacy, so all its flaws and problems have been removed before installing it into the new 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek. This new change will surely improve the comfort and quality of travelling with the new model.
Another improvement on the 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek is the new EyeSight driver assist system. This system comes with the Limited trim as a standard and it is optional for the Premium trim. The EyeSight technology includes numerous safety systems, such as pre-collision braking, blind-spot detection, lane-departure warning and lane-changing assist, adaptive cruise control and rear cross-traffic alert. These systems will surely improve the safety of the passengers and driver, but they will also make it more pleasant and stress-free to drive the new model. In addition, the 2015 XV Crosstrek comes with an improved noise reduction, improving it quite a lot. The new cabin will, therefore, be much more enjoyable to travel in than before.
