The 2015 Subaru Impreza will be released this November. The new model will represent a carryover sedan and hatchback, but we must say that the changes made on the 2015 Impreza will be very interesting. To start with, the new model will have a refreshed appearance, which will not be changed drastically, but it will certainly make the car look more interesting and new. The design changes will be subtle, so the model will resemble its current counterpart. In addition, the new 2015 Impreza will come with some interesting and not-so-small interior changes, which will mostly focus on improving the experience of driving this car. Reportedly, the new model will have an improved infotainment system and better noise reduction inside the cabin. Moreover, the manufacturer will now change the standard equipment, offering more gadgets with the entry level, and adding some new to the existing list. This will surely improve the way people see the Impreza, as the model will now be quite packed with equipment and highly customizable. As for the powertrain, the 2015 Subaru Impreza will come with only one 2.0-liter engine. However, this doesn’t mean that the new model will have the same performance specs as it did so far, since there are rumors saying that the new model will have an improved fuel economy.
2015 Subaru Impreza Exterior Changes
As for the exterior changes, the appearance of the 2015 Subaru Impreza will be slightly changed. Since the full-scale redesign is scheduled for the 2016 model, there is really no need for them to make some drastic changes on the 2015 model at the moment. However, this doesn’t mean that the new model will be outdated or dull. The 2015 Impreza will resemble its current counterpart in most basic design aspects, but it will also bring some new details and tweaks that will make it look more modern and attractive. These changes will be mostly noticeable in the front end, since both the grille and the headlights will be altered. Also, the front bumper will be slightly improved, so the whole front end of the vehicle will look interesting and new. In addition, similar changes should take place on the rear end as well. The new model will also feature new mirror covers, which will be a nice detail to finish up the whole look. As for the 2016 Subaru Impreza, its appearance will be based on the new WRX Concept and the model should look absolutely stunning.
Interior And Gadgets
As for the interior, the 2015 Subaru Impreza will have an improved cabin as well. Though the design will probably remain the same, the new model will come with certain improvements that will surely make the driving experience more comfortable and enjoyable. As we mentioned before, the new model will have an improved noise cancellation in the cabin and it will also offer updated and new gadgets. The infotainment system will be improved, so the entry trim will now come with a 6.2-inch touchscreen, while more expensive trims will offer a 7-inch touchscreen. Also, the new model will have some new additions to the standard equipment, so the rearview camera and a cruise control will be offered as standard.
2015 Subaru Impreza Powertrain
The 2015 Subaru Impreza will use a 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine that can generate 148 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 146 lb-ft of torque at 4,200 rpm. This unit will provide the model with more than enough power for decent performance. Also, the new model will probably have a slightly improved fuel economy, which is great news when you know its current fuel economy is more than satisfactory. In addition, the lack of other engine options is compensated in the fact that this engine provides the car with superb stability. Its gives the model a low center of gravity and symmetrical well-balanced weight, which is very important when entering sharp turns or cornering.
Transmission & Safety
As for the transmission, the 2015 Subaru Impreza will offer two possible solutions depending on the trim chosen. The entry level and the Sport premium trim will come with a five-speed manual transmission, while the Premium and Limited trims come with a continuously variable gearbox. In addition, the new model will also offer the EyeSight Driver Assist system, which is a package of safety gadgets. It consists of steering-responsive fog lights, lane departure warning, pre-collision braking and adaptive cruise control.
2015 Subaru Impreza Fuel Economy
The 2015 Subaru Impreza will, like we mentioned earlier, also have an improved fuel economy, thanks to the CVT transmission. The new Premium and Limited trims will now use 28 mpg in the city, 37 mpg on the highway and 31 mpg combined.
Release & Estimated Price
The 2015 Subaru Impreza will be released in November. The new model should cost more or less the same as does the current model, though the price hasn’t been confirmed yet. This means its starting price should be somewhere around $17,800 without destination fee.
