The 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel had its premiere at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. This is the tenth model based on the pickup truck, and it is all-new and design especially for this year. It seems that the manufacturer has found a goldmine with the 1500 model, as each and every one of its new iterations gets received fantastically on the market. That’s why we have the opportunity to enjoy yet another version of the popular and beloved Ram 1500. The Rebel is an off-road version of the truck, designed to tackle down even the harshest conditions. The 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel should be considered as a smaller version of its big sibling, the Ram 2500 Power Wagon, and somewhere in the same area with the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. The new model is definitely a worthy addition to the Ram family, as it brings quite a lot of excitement and some rather interesting features. Let’s take a look.
The 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel comes with a unique exterior design. The base for the model’s appearance was the regular Ram 1500, but we must say that the new Rebel look really robust and aggressive. The regular model was simply a starting point, but the end result is quite different. The Rebel looks much more aggressive and sportier. The designers managed to create such affect by improving and changing certain details on the starting truck.
The most obvious difference between the 2015 Ram 1500 and its Rebel counterpart is definitely in their grilles. The 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel comes with a really pronounced front fascia with big black grille with the Ram emblem in its center. The grille is paired with new revised blacked-out headlights, new LED fog lights and similar details. The new 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel comes with a crew-cab and 5’7” bed.
As for the rear end, the 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel will look just as impressive at its tailgate as it does at the front end. There will be new taillights, and a large stamped black lettering logo. The rear exterior design is finished with the chrome exhaust tips and black-powder-coated rear bumper.
The 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel will come on five body colors available: Flame Red, Brilliant Black, Bright White, Bright Silver Metallic and Granite Crystal Metallic. You can also choose from the monotone or two-tone schemes. In addition, the exterior design is topped up by a wheel-arch moldings, mirrors and lower body panels in black. The new 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel uses the new 17-inch aluminum wheels.
2015 Ram 1500 Rebel Interior
The 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel comes with a modern and attractive interior design. The cabin looks just as bold and aggressive as does the exterior. The new truck is using a black interior design with Radar Red and Light Gray accent stitching that really look stylish and dominant. The center stack features the Iron Gray Metallic finishing. Some of the gadgets the new 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel will use is the heated steering wheel with semi-perforated black leather with Radar Red accent stitching and a number of other luxurious details. Needless to mention, the truck will be packed full with the latest technological gadgets.
The 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel will come with two engine options. The first one is the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that can deliver 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. This unit returns 25 mpg. The second engine option is the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 unit that can generate 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque.
The new truck will come with two powertrain options, 4×4 and 4×2 setups with 3.95 and 3.21 gear ratios. The Pentastar engine will use exclusively 4×4 powertrain with the 3.92 gear ratio, while the HEMI V8 mill will offer both options.
The 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel will also feature some changes to the suspension, so it will come with the Bilstein shocks tuned exclusively for this model. This will increase the truck’s ground clearance by one inch, and though this change doesn’t sound drastic, it will improve the model’s performance quite a lot.
In addition, the 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel will feature a rear anti-spin differential and an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission, which will both be available with each of the engines offered.
The 2015 Ram 1500 Rebel will be released later this year, most likely this autumn. As for the price, there isn’t any information about it just yet, but the figures should be announced soon.
