2015 Porsche Carrera GTS Design Differences
The 2015 Porsche Carrera GTS will have a bit different design from the regular model. The new model is around 0.4 inches lower than the Carrera S, thanks to the PASM active damper system. Its body is also a bit wider, so the model has an improved stability and sportier feel. The exterior is topped up with 20-inch wheels with black gloss finish, tinted bi-xenon headlights and special air intakes and exhaust tips. In addition, the new Carrera GTS comes with Sport Chrono package as standard. This features adjustable suspension, Alcantara leather seats and a sports exhaust system. The new model will also feature numerous gadgets and systems which provide safety, comfort and fun to all the passengers.
Powertrain Features & Specs
The 2015 Porsche Carrera GTS will have an impressive powertrain. It will use a 3.8-liter flat-six engine, which is also used for the Carrera S. however, the unit will be boosted up and it will produce more power than the one under the hood of the latter. This particular engine will generate an amazing 430 horsepower and will be mated with a dual-clutch PDK transmission, where the acronym stands for Porsche Doppelkupplung. The GTS with a hardtop will accelerate to 60 mph from a standstill in 3.8 seconds, while the Carrera GTS Cabriolet will have a 0.2 seconds worse time, reaching the same speed in 4 seconds flat. In addition, this fantastic new treat will come with equally fantastic maximum speed, which is set at 187 mph. the coupe version will be slightly more impressive: when paired with a rear-wheel drive and an optional manual transmission, it will be able to race at the speed of 190 mph. speaking of the drive modes, the new model will come with a rear-wheel drive as standard, but you can upgrade it to the all-wheel drive for the additional $6,700.
2015 Porsche Carrera GTS Premiere & Price
The 2015 Porsche Carrera GTS will have its premiere at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, scheduled for this November. It will be released by the end of the year. Like we mentioned before, the new model will not come cheap. The coupe version will start off at $115,000, while the Cabriolet model will cost at least $127,000. These figures do include the destination fee, which is set at $995. Of course, any additional requests and packs cost extra, such as, for example, the all-wheel drive, which can be yours for $6,700.
