The 2015 Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell is already familiar to all the European population. It’s almost the same car as Hyundai ix35. The only difference is that the latter version is reserved for the European market. This practically means all the specs that Tucson will come with are already known. It will have same fuel cells, lithium-polymer battery, the same electric engine, the same number of horsepower etc. Another thing concerning this car is the problems it comes with. The fact there aren’t many hydrogen stations, shortens the driving range of this green CUV, which is quite a big problem. But this is compensated with other specs and offers that come along, especially the fact that you can have unlimited amount of fuel and vehicle maintenance for free. The release date of this car is expected to be in the summer.
2015 Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell Size Change
The 2015 Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell has somewhat changed dimension. In comparison to the conventional Tucson, the green one has less space due to the fact its battery and hydrogen tank are placed underneath the cabin. In addition, this model is 0.4″ longer, but its rear-seats legroom is 0.6″ shorter and the trunk is 1.9 cubic feet smaller. But don’t be alarmed, this makes insignificant difference when it comes to comfort it offers. If the specs weren’t announced, no one would probably notice the change. With its figures (173.6 inch length, 65.3 inch height and 71.7 inch width), the green Tucson is very comfortable. If anyone cares, other specifications concerning its dimensions are: 103.9 inch long wheelbase, 39.4/39.1 inch front/rear head room.
2015 Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell Powertrain Specs
As for the powertrain, the 2015 Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell comes with an electric engine and a hydrogen tank which can hold up to 12.4 lb of fuel at 10,000 psi. The engine can generate 134 hp at 5000 rpm and 221 lb-ft of torque and, of course, it has zero CO2 emission. It accelerates from 0 to 60mph in 12.5 seconds and its top speed is 100mph. With this tank, you can travel for a maximum of 300miles. In addition, it only needs 10min to refill. The downside is the number of hydrogen stations. If you live in Los Angeles, this should not be a problem. There are 9 stations of this type in your area. Furthermore, there are 19 more stations which are planned for construction in the next couple of years. When this is over, it will be logical to expect more Tucsons driving down the California streets. Until then, this situation will probably put off any potential buyer. This futuristic solution of saving the Earth will have to wait its time. The 2015 Tucson will come with a front-wheel drive only.
2015 Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell Comes With “At Your Service”
The Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell comes with the valet program “At Your Service”, the same as the 2015 Hyundai Equus does. This means that, when your car needs service, Hyundai will provide a loaner, pick your car up and return it to a place you specify. Useful, don’t you think?
2015 Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell Lease
The 2015 Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell will first be available at several dealerships in South California. I will be released in the summer and it will be offered with a lease. You will be able to get this green car if you pay $2,999 upon agreement and $499 per month for 36 months. For this money, you are not only being eco-friendly, but you will also get as much free fuel as you wish and full maintenance. You must admit, it is not such a bad deal.
