The 2015 Audi TT has finally arrived. It premiere took place at the 84th Geneva Auto Show. The new restyled model brings sleeker, more attractive and more aggressive look, but still keeps the basic body line. It will be offered in three trim levels, as expected, so there will be something for everyone’s taste. The third generation of this famous sports car will come with three different powertrain, but it is most likely none of those with a manual transmission will be offered to the USA market. Regardless of that, the American buyers won’t miss much, given the other options they will be able to choose from.
2015 Auti TT Appearance Redesigned
The inspiration for the 2015 Audi TT’s exterior lies in the first generation of this coupe, believe it or not. This model dates back from 1998, and had more or less, the same fluid silhouette where taillights meet the roofline along side with rounded fenders. All models will have twin exhaust pipes, LED taillights, and an option of installing “Matrix LED” headlights as well. As for the front side, the headlights have an angular shape; a new hexagonal grille has been introduced and the biggest surprise for sure is the well known Audi’s 4-ring sign, which has been moved from the grille to the hood. In addition, new fascia shape has been made. All this redesigned parts are showing us what the design language of Audi will be like in the future.
2015 Audi TT Interior
As for the interior, the same stylish look the former model had has been saved, but without keeping the same infotainment system, which used to hold up entire space on the instrument board. The 2015 Audi TT will have a Bang&Olufsen sound system which comes with 12 speakers, a 14-channel amplifiers, door woofers that is lit with special ascend light which can be adjusted to your taste. The company intended to make a clean, elegant look, and it succeeded. The instrumentation is a big TFT screen, which, for example, allows driver to select smaller tachometer and speedometer thus creating more space for navigation map, or another function. In addition, the seats now used inside the 2015 Audi TT are lighter and mounted lower in the vehicle. Also, more color will be used on the interior, which is something completely new when it comes to this two-seat sport car.
Engine Options Of The 2015 Audi TT — TDI, Transmissions And Drive
Three powertrains will be offered. The base one is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder TDI with standard stop-start which can generate 184hp and 280 pound-feet of torque with an impressive fuel economy of 56mpg. It goes from 0 to 60mph in respective 7.2s. This engine will come with front-wheel drive only and it still hasn’t been confirmed to be available in the USA. The other two powertrains which will be hit the states’ market are the popular Audi’s turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 230hp and 272lb-ft of torque and the one with 310hp and 280lb-ft of torque which comes with a TTS model. The first one mentioned comes with either 6-speed manual to front-wheel, which hit 60mph in 6s, or the s-speed dual-clutch S Tronic with Quattro all-wheel drive, which is one second faster. The second one mentioned comes with the same transmissions offered, and goes from 0-60mph in 4.7s. In addition, the TT-RS level will come with a 380hp 5-cylinder engine and both front- and all-wheel drive. It will be offered with both transmissions mentioned before, but the USA market probably won’t have the ones with manual gearshift.
